Race course 2009/2010 (updated maps)

The race course is a scenic route along Oslo’s seaside. The course is flat and fast. So if you are looking for a PR, Oslo might be the right spot. Start and finishing area is as last year moved the beautiful Akershus Fortress, and you are passing the popular tourist and seafront area for shopping and a small harbour for yachts at Aker Brygge and the new awardwinning Opera House during your way to the finish.

Course description for the Marathon and Half Marathon
View map for 2010 The start and finishing area is at the Akershus Fortress at “Festningsplassen”, the track passes Kirkegata, Kongensgate, Vippetangen, by Skippergata, passing by the New Opera House, along Havneveien to Sjursøya, the course turns around at the WAG building.
On the way back you pass Havneveien, the Opera house, Vippetangen, Skippergata, Kirkegaten.
Passing up the main road Karl Johan gate, turn left in to Roald Amundsensgate(on the pavement) and left again in to Stortingsgaten, passing the Wesselsplass, Prinsensgate, Kongensgate and Myntegate.
The participants continue by Kontrasjæret along Rådhusgate to the seaside of Rådhusplassen(City Town Hall), along Dr. Maudsgate, Ruseløkkeveien, Cort Adlersgate, Huitfeldtsgate, Lassonsgate, Munkedamsveien (along the pavement/cycle path to Framnesgate, Drammensveien (on the right side to Bygdøy Allé). Following Drammensveien (left side) to Skøyen Train station/bridge, and on the footpath along the river Hoff.
Returning along the cycle path under Bygdøy round about along to Frognerkilen, Frognerstranda and Hjortnæskaia(where the Color Line ferries are leaving form, to Framnes by the roundabout, following the bicycle path on the right side of Munkedamsveien.
Finally pass Tjuvholmen (right at the round about) and along the seafront at Aker Brygge (Stranden) , follows the seaside of Rådhusplassen, among the Akershusstranda, by Kongensgate, Myntegate to Skippergate – and turn right for the entrance of Akershus Fortress opposite the port of DFDS Seaways terminal
– and you are at the GOAL inside the Akershus Fortress!
Follow this course once 21,1 km for the half marathon, and twice for the full marathon.

Starting at the Akershus Fortress at the ”Festningsplassen”, follows the Kirkegata, Myntegata, turn left in to Kongensgate, Vippetangen, Skippergata, passing Havneveien out , turn around at the Opera House at the bridge,
Follow Havneveien the opposite way, back to Skippergate, Myntegate, Kirkegaten, passing up the main road Karl Johans gate, turn left in to Roald Amundsensgate(on the pavement) and left again in to Stortingsgaten, passing the Wesselsplass, Prinsensgate, Kongensgate.
Go on to Myntegate where the participants continue by Kontrasjæret along down the Rådhusgate (pavement), follows the seaside of Rådhusplassen, Cort Adlersgate, following the pavement on the left side among Munkedamsveien, crossing over at the roundabout at Tjuvholmen, passing by Tjuvholmen among the Aker Brygge(Stranden) and the seaside of Rådhusplassen, among the Akershusstranda, around the traffic island and turn left at Kongensgate follow to Myntegata and to Skippergata and turn right for the entrance of Akershus Fortress opposite the port of DFDS Seaways terminal,
– and you are at the GOAL inside the Akershus Fortress!
